Personal Information

Ahmed Kovacevic graduated from the University of Sarajevo with a Dipl Ing in 1986 and was awarded the MSc degree by the University of Tuzla in 1997. Following the research work in CFD for positive displacement compressors he was awarded PhD at City University in London in 2002.

His early positions were at the University of Sarajevo in 1986 and at the University of Tuzla in 1989 where he worked until 1998. There he taught mechanical engineering with special emphasis in applications of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics and computer aided design (CAD). Also he was involved in a number of research projects on screw compressors, and power plant investigations.

In June 1998 he took up the post of research fellow at City University London in the Centre for Positive Displacement Compressor Technology. Since then his main research interest has been in the numerical modelling of 3 dimensional flows through twin-screw machines. In addition, Dr Kovacevic is responsible for the design of compressors and expanders for a wide variety of industrial applications and for data acquisition and performance analysis of all positive displacement machinery built and tested in the university laboratories.

From year 2003 he is holding a position of Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Design in the School of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at City University. The main teaching subjects are Engineering, Mechanical and Industrial Design.

As a result of all these activities he has authored or co-authored 5 books, 22 Journal Papers, 56 Conference Papers and many Industrial Reports. He jointly holds rights to two patents and 6 awards for best papers produced.
